PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aldo Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Chapman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Elephant Man - Haters (2009 Turn My Swag On Riddim) . We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aldo Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonny Chapman!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chapman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brown as he avoids it easily.
Brown lands a high kick!
Chapman fails with the takedown.
Chapman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brown is fending him off so far but Chapman persists. Nope, Brown circles away and we're back to standing.
Aldo Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonny Chapman.
Brown throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Chapman dives in and grabs Brown's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brown pushes down on Chapman's head and hops out.
Brown moves in looking to clinch but Chapman pushes him off.

Brown leaves Chapman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jonny Chapman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chapman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brown is trying to defend but Chapman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Brown looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Chapman pushes past his half guard into mount!

Chapman get's back to his feet.
Brown really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Brown counters with a head kick.

Brown keeps control of Chapman as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Brown escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Brown makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Brown closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Brown manages to break the clinch.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Brown - that will leave a mark!
Brown comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Chapman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Brown tries to bum rush Chapman with a series of wild strikes but Chapman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Chapman steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Brown. That one must have hurt.
Chapman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Brown counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Brown fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Chapman looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Brown clinches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Brown lands a nice shot to the body.
Brown just leaning against Chapman, taking a breather.
Chapman is trying to break the clinch but Brown has him pressed against the cage.
Chapman tries to pull guard but Brown holds him up against the cage and eventually Chapman drops back down to his feet.

Brown escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brown tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chapman paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Chapman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Chapman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Chapman on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Brown. Brown obviously looking to wear him down.
Brown wants to clinch up but Chapman keeps it at a distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brown lands with a kick to the temple. Chapman shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brown misses with a jab, cross combination.
Chapman takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aldo Brown dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Brown tries to clinch there but Chapman circles away.
Brown lands with a kick to the temple. Chapman shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Chapman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brown looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Brown is trying to buck Chapman off.

Chapman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brown has escaped the position, nice work there.
Brown is looking to regain half guard here but Chapman keeps moving and retains side control.
Brown pushes Chapman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Chapman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Chapman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Brown sneaks back into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brown is trying to stand back up but Chapman is controlling him
Brown knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chapman on the ground.

Chapman is working for a kimura but Brown is defending it quite comfortably.

Chapman tries to stand and escape but Brown actually recovers to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Brown throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Chapman escapes and throws Brown's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown pushes Chapman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Chapman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Chapman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chapman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Brown tries to escape but Chapman is in control.

Brown sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Brown is looking to escape.

Chapman has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Brown defend it? Chapman steps over the head and cranks it - Brown is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Chapman!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jonny Chapman!
