Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Ott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like John Ott has been cut.

Jackson drives through and clinches with Ott against the cage.
Ott is trying to drag Jackson to the mat but Jackson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jackson pulls guard effortlessly.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ott scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Ott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ott wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

Jackson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ott defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ott gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ott has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ott wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

Ott avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jackson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ott throwing strikes from guard but Jackson blocks nicely.
Ott wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Jackson can't keep his opponent in guard - Ott advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Ott wants to pass to mount but Jackson is defending the position.
Ott is breathing heavily.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ott pulls his head out easily.
Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jackson wants to control but Ott is keeping busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Jackson.

Ott feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ott gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jackson is looking for a triangle but Ott pushes his legs off easily.
Ott trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jackson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jackson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!


A combination from Jackson does no damage.
Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ott moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A solid body kick from Jackson.
Jackson scores with a nice right hand.
Ott shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense.
Jackson connects with a high kick.
Ott tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ott somewhat.
Jackson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Ott has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jackson lands with a nice body kick.
Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jackson throws a head kick that half lands.
Jack Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jackson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The fight stays on the outside here - Jackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jackson.
Jackson misses with a few strikes there.

Ott closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jackson to the mat! Jackson manages to get full guard.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Jackson is tightening it up a little... Ott has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Ott reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Ott taps out! nice BJJ there by Jackson!
