Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Padilha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janko Woloski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Janko Woloski!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woloski misses with a body shot.

Padilha closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Padilha breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Woloski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Woloski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Padilha swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Padilha throws a head kick that misses.
Padilha drops his hands momentarily and Woloski takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gustavo Padilha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Woloski misses with a wild combination.
Padilha connects with a good right hand that stumbles Woloski. Woloski circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


It looks like Janko Woloski has been cut.
Padilha shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Woloski as he avoids it easily.

Woloski gets caught flat footed, as Padilha shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Woloski is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Padilha defends well.
Padilha wants to control from the top but Woloski keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Padilha is looking to stand up but Woloski won't let him.
Woloski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Padilha wants to control from the top but Woloski keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Woloski can do anything to dispel that myth.

Padilha changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Woloski looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Woloski regains half guard, as Padilha was trying to land strikes.
Woloski regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Padilha.
Woloski lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Padilha!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Padilha's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Woloski stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Padilha.

Padilha changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Woloski looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Padilha prevents Woloski from escaping the position.
Padilha wants to lay and pray for a moment but Woloski keeps working.
The ground and pound from Padilha seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Padilha thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Padilha wants to control but Woloski is keeping him busy.

Woloski shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Padilha defends it nicely.
Padilha works over Woloski's head and body with a nice combination.
Woloski chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Padilha can pounce on him.

Padilha is staying active underneath Woloski, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Padilha seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Woloski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Woloski shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Padilha is trying to defend but Woloski finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Woloski is taking a breather. Padilha says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Woloski is trying to control. Padilha wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Padilha could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Woloski manages to reverse the position and now he's in Padilha's guard. Nice work there by Woloski.

Woloski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

I think Woloski has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
