Woodring has chosen American bad ass as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Todd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Owen Woodring!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Todd checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Woodring lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Gary Todd has been cut.
Owen Woodring seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Woodring scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Todd shoots in for a takedown but Woodring shows good takedown defense.
Woodring pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Woodring fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Todd manages to avoid it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Woodring.

Todd drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Todd passes Woodring's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Woodring avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Todd.

Todd seems to be working for a kimura but Woodring defends the submission attempt.

Woodring is defending against the submission attempts here by Todd.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Todd is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Woodring is trying to stand back up but Todd is controlling him
Woodring tries to roll over but Todd keeps him under control.

Todd in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Woodring tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Todd!
