The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Denn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pomfrey as he jumps to the side.
Pomfrey scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Denn uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pomfrey.
Denn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pomfrey as he avoids it easily.
Pomfrey connects with a body shot.
Pomfrey throws a looping overhand right but Denn ducks down to avoid it.
Denn has a takedown stuffed.
Felix Pomfrey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DJ Denn.
Pomfrey throws a body punch but Denn moves out of range.

Pomfrey scores with a decent looking hook.
Denn uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pomfrey.
Pomfrey stuffs the takedown attempt from Denn. Denn gets slowly back to his feet.

Denn is looking for a kimura but Pomfrey is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Denn to get the leverage.
Denn throws a strike but Pomfrey avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Denn drops back looking for a leg! Pomfrey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pomfrey manages to kick Denn off! Denn jumps back into Pomfrey's guard.
Pomfrey is looking to stand up but Denn isn't so interested in that idea.
Denn is fighting to break Pomfrey's control of his arms but Pomfrey is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Denn postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pomfrey is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Denn, into his guard.

Denn has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pomfrey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Denn.

Pomfrey has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Denn takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Pomfrey's corner calls for a 1-2. Pomfrey obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Denn uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pomfrey.
Denn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pomfrey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Denn somewhat.

Denn dives in and grabs Pomfrey's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pomfrey pushes down on Denn's head and hops out.

Denn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pomfrey to the mat! Pomfrey manages to get full guard.

Denn has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Pomfrey escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Pomfrey!
Pomfrey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Denn on the ground.

Pomfrey misses with a head kick.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Denn takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Denn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pomfrey as he jumps to the side.

DJ Denn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

letting Pomfrey counter with a right hand.
Pomfrey jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

and Denn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
