Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Vass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Bogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Vass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Barry Bogan!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bogan dives in and grabs Vass's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vass pushes down on Bogan's head and hops out.
Bogan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Vass misses with a takedown

and Bogan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vass's guard.
Bogan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Vass is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Vass is pulling down on Bogan's head. It's preventing any offense from Bogan, at least for the moment.

Vass uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Bogan tries to clinch up but Vass circles away and keeps his distance.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vass's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Vass.

Vass has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Vass decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Vass is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Vass seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bogan for as long as he can get away with.

Vass is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Vass closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Vass is staying tight to Bogan's torso, preventing him from escaping.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Vass has his takedown stuffed

and Bogan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vass's guard now.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Vass has Bogan pulled in close to control his posture.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Nick Vass just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Vass shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Bogan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bogan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Vass is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bogan is controlling him.

Vass has his feet on Bogan's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Bogan manages to break the clinch.

Vass shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Vass is looking to take a break and control but Bogan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Vass is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Still in half guard, Vass seems content to control.

Vass wants to stand but Bogan has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Vass trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vass is taking a breather. Bogan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Nick Vass overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Vass stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Bogan to get to his feet.

Bogan tries to clinch there but Vass circles away.

Vass closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bogan to the mat! Bogan manages to get full guard.

Vass slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Vass wants to control from the top but Bogan keeps moving.

Bogan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vass controls the pace.

Vass wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bogan keeps working.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bogan is in trouble now - Vass has advanced to mount!

Vass bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bogan's guard.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bogan.

Bogan throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Vass tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vass wants to break free but Bogan has control.
Barry Bogan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Bogan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Vass is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bogan's half guard.
Vass seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Vass tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bogan.

And that's the end of the fight!
Barry Bogan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Vass has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
