Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lawrence Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niels Bohr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith cracks Bohr with a right hand to the side of the head.

Bohr closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Smith did well to prevent Bohr getting side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bohr can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

It looks like Niels Bohr has been cut.

Smith gets caught flat footed, as Bohr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Bohr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Smith is trying to control the position but Bohr postures up.

That was a close round but I would say that Lawrence Smith will probably get the nod.

Smith throws a right and a left that Bohr avoids nicely.

Bohr shoots in and bounces Smith off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Bohr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bohr has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.

Smith is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Bohr rolls with it to try and escape but Smith cranks on the arm and Bohr is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
