Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vidal Persposky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Persposky has chosen ABBA - Waterloo as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Persposky.
A head kick misses from Jones.
Jones cracks a nice hook into Persposky's ribs.
Persposky jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

It looks like Paul Jones has been cut.
Persposky looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.

Persposky loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch.
Persposky tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Persposky fights it but they end up in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jones's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Jones scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Persposky lands with an uppercut that bounces Jones off the cage and back into rage.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Persposky.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Persposky looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Persposky keeps working.
Jones slips a nice elbow through Persposky's hands, connecting with Persposky's forehead.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones is pressing down on Persposky's thigh, looking to free his foot. Persposky is holding on for now.
Persposky wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Jones has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Persposky bucks up and throws Jones to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

Persposky might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
