Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Link Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Hook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hook has chosen Teenage Wasteland/ Baba O Reily as his entrance music. Link Stark has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hook throws the kick towards the body but Stark avoids it.

Stark closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hook is trying to buck Stark off.

Hook really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stark. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Stark counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hook fails with an attempt to clinch.

Stark changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hook looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hook is not content to let Stark control the position.

Stark tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Stark goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hook has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Stark but great work by Hook.
Hook wants to stand but Stark has his arm trapped.

Stark is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Hook is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

A punch lands to the side of Hook 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hook lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Stark has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Stark and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Stark counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hook throws a left and a right that both miss
and Stark counters with a nice uppercut.

Stark throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hook.
Hook throws a series of punches but Stark avoids them all with ease.
Hook shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Stark counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Stark seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hook does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Link Stark overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Stark is pressing down on Hook's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hook is holding on for now.
Stark is stalling here. Hook is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Stark seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hook has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Stark tries to bench press Hook off him but Hook keeps the position.

Hook stands up.

Stark looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hook!

Stark goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hook is on top in guard.
Hook must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hook trying to stand up but can't free himself from Stark's guard.

Stark has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hook can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hook wants to stand but Stark is controlling his posture from full guard.

Stark is working an open guard so Hook takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Stark shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Stark drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hook dives on top into guard.

Stark is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hook got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stark has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hook has managed to get both his arms back between Stark's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hook bucks up and tries to throw Stark off but instead Stark has got his back!

Stark is looking for a choke. Hook gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Hook manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Hook stands up and waves to Stark to follow him.

Stark bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hook is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Stark has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Hook wants to get back to his feet but Stark drags him back down.
Stark controls the position.
Hook wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Stark is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hook's shoulder. That is not cool.
Thomas Hook has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hook misses with an elbow from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Link Stark showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Stark has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
