PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Cash Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacoby Cash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cash is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Between Angels and Insects. Jacoby Cash will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jackson Cash Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacoby Cash!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cash gets caught flat footed, as Cash Jr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Cash Jr lands a couple of elbows.

Cash Jr drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cash Jr jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cash is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Cash thows a huge punch but Cash Jr dodges it nicely.
Cash seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Cash stands up and beckons Cash Jr to join him on the feet.
Cash fails with a takedown attempt.
Cash Jr tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cash was well out of range. Poor timing from Cash Jr.

Cash had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cash Jr defends it easily.
Cash utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Cash Jr is looking to work some ground and pound but Cash has wrist control.

Cash is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cash Jr is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Cash manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cash Jr manages to get himself to full guard.

Cash wants to get up but he can't break Cash Jr's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Cash Jr on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cash Jr tries to get out of the position.

Cash Jr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cash gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cash in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cash Jr is trying to maintain the position but Cash is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Cash seems to be looking for submissions.

Cash is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Cash Jr to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Cash Jr could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Cash Jr lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cash is on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cash drops back looking for a leg! Cash Jr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cash Jr manages to kick Cash off! Cash jumps back into Cash Jr's guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Cash misses with a takedown attempt

Cash is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Cash is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Cash avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Cash Jr.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Cash fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cash Jr, pushing him back against the ropes.

Cash escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cash Jr takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Cash feints and as Cash Jr raises his hands in defense, Cash changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cash with a flurry of punches that miss.

Cash drops back looking for a leg! Cash Jr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cash Jr manages to kick Cash off! Cash jumps back into Cash Jr's guard.

Cash Jr seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cash does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Cash is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Cash Jr has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cash bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cash Jr's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacoby Cash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Cash Jr is looking to improve his position but Cash isn't that keen on the idea.

Cash working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Cash Jr turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Cash off and cradles Cash Jr's limp body as Cash celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Jacoby Cash!
