PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Murdock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshall Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murdock comes to the cage accompanied by The Man Without Fear. Law has chosen Radiation Sickness as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Murdock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marshall Law!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Law moves out of range of the strikes.
Murdock tries to move into range but Law moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Law misses with an uppercut. Murdock saw that one coming.
Murdock jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A combination from Law does no damage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Law looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Murdock throws a hook to the side of Law's head but Law sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Law moves in looking to clinch but Murdock pushes him off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Murdock blocks a head kick by Law.
Murdock tries to land a front kick but Law steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Law throws a series of punches but Murdock moves out of range.
Murdock throws a head kick that misses

and Law counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Law passes Murdock's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Law lands a nice short elbow.
Murdock wants to get back to his feet.
Law with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Murdock wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ground and pound from Law.
Law throwing shots but Murdock is blocking nicely.
Murdock wants to get back to his feet.
Law passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Murdock!
Murdock is in a horrible position here. Law smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Law lands with some strikes.

Murdock is rocked!
Murdock is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Law unloading with bombs!
Oh Murdock is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Law landing strikes, looking to finish!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Murdock squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Law postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Murdock in real trouble here! The ref calls for Murdock to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marshall Law!
