Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nichiren Daishonin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demi Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maia gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Daishonin to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Daishonin tries to free his leg and advance position but Maia is retaining full guard.
Maia pulls Daishonin in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maia lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Daishonin!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Maia throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Daishonin is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Maia goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Daishonin is on top in guard.

Daishonin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Maia is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Daishonin pulls his head out easily.

Nichiren Daishonin dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Daishonin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Maia did well to prevent Daishonin getting side control.
Maia wants to control but Daishonin is keeping busy.
Maia wants to get back to full guard.
Maia is pressing down on Daishonin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Maia pulls Daishonin in close to prevent any damage.

Daishoninis looking to pass into half guard but Maia pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Maia is in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Maia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Daishonin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Maia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Daishonin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Daishonin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Daishonin!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Maia can't do much from the bottom here.

Maia manages to work his way to half guard, despite Daishonin's best efforts.
