Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Lane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Cooper has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mark Lane's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Lane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Cooper!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper tries to clinch up.
Cooper moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Lane throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cooper counters with a two punch combo.
Cooper is looking to clinch.

Cooper gets a takedown into half guard.
Cooper is taking a breather. Lane says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Lane is looking to escape.
Well, if Cooper is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Cooper uses his free foot to push down on Lane's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lane.
Lane is trying to stand up.

Lane gets caught flat footed, as Cooper shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Cooper drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Cooper has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Lane cracks Cooper with an open hand slap.

Lane has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cooper is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Lane tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Lane misses with a knee strike.
Lane digs a right hand into Cooper's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Cooper's gas tank.
Lane lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Cooper is working for takedown but Lane is calmly controlling the position for now.
Cooper wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Lane lands a knee to the body.
Lane prevents the takedown attempt.
Mark Lane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Cooper.

Lane tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cooper's elbow.
Lane is pressed up against the cage. Cooper has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lane down to the mat. Lane avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Cooper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Cooper thows a huge punch but Lane dodges it nicely.
Lane tries to kick Cooper off but Cooper keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cooper wants to control but Lane is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cooper is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Lane tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Cooper manages to move to mount!

Cooper shoots for a takedown but Lane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Lane lands an elbow inside that Cooper shrugs off.

Lane lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Lane unloads a knee to the mid-section. Cooper lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Lane lands with a short shot to the head.

Cooper manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Cooper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cooper is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Lane connects with a nasty looking knee right to Cooper's face.


Cooper is rocked!

Lane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cooper is still on wobbly legs! Can Lane finish him?
Mark Lane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lane tries to close the distance and clinch but Cooper swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lane connects with a stiff jab that staggers Cooper - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
