The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayweather throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Santana.

Santana takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mayweather's corner calls for a 1-2. Mayweather obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Santana shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mayweather pinned against the cage. Mayweather gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Santana. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mayweather misses with a double jab.
Santana takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Santana shoots for a double leg takedown but Mayweather sprawls well. He's pushed Santana's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mayweather lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mayweather.

It looks like Alex Santana has been cut.

Mayweather wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Mayweather moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Santana looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Mayweather fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Santana. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Mayweather lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Mayweather is working the combinations to good effect here.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Mayweather has cracked Santana with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Mayweather lands another huge swinging hook and Santana tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Santana, before Mayweather can land any more shots!
