The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
silva shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
silva is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.

and silva counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

silva shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. silva showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jones moves into full guard.
silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
