PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Stonehouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bartek Walkowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stonehouse kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Invaders Must Die. Bartek Walkowski struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartek Walkowski!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stonehouse gets a clinch.
Walkowski is struggling to control the position.
Walkowski tries to pull guard but Stonehouse won't allow it.
Stonehouse stalling the fight.
Stonehouse is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Walkowski is stalling here.
Walkowski trying to control the position but instead, Stonehouse has worked for underhooks and has pushed Walkowski into the cage.
Stonehouse is leaning against Walkowski and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Stonehouse is fighting off a takedown attempt but Walkowski is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Stonehouse to the mat. Stonehouse regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Walkowski should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Stonehouse is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Stonehouse's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Stonehouse has a closed guard, preventing Walkowski from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walkowski looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stonehouse bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walkowski's guard.

Stonehouse drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stonehouse jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Stonehouse pushing down on Walkowski's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Walkowski is trying to stand.

Walkowski is refusing to be controlled, as Stonehouse sits in half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Walkowski tries to kick Stonehouse off but Stonehouse keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Stonehouse thows a huge punch but Walkowski dodges it nicely.

Stonehouse trying to control the action but Walkowski is working from the bottom.

Stonehouse throwing shots but Walkowski is blocking nicely.
Stonehouse moves nicely into side control.
Walkowski is not content to let Stonehouse control the position.

Stonehouse has hold of Walkowski's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Walkowski seems comfortable defending it but Stonehouse has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Walkowski is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Walkowski is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Stonehouse couldn't care less - he's delighted!
