Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kris Brisbell!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brisbell tries a head kick but it misses.
Soprano shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Soprano tries to clinch but Brisbell moves out of range.
Brisbell lands a head kick. Soprano smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Brisbell darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Brisbell seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Soprano tries to get to full guard but Brisbell has control of the leg.
Brisbell looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Brisbell prevents Soprano from improving his position.
Brisbell tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Soprano.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brisbell not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Soprano is trying to maintain the position but Brisbell is very close to passing his half guard.
Soprano is looking for a sweep. Brisbell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Brisbell pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Brisbell counters by clinching up.
Soprano is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Brisbell pulls Soprano into guard.
Brisbell pulls Soprano in close to prevent any damage.
Brisbell wants to stand but Soprano is controlling the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Soprano seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Brisbell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Soprano manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Brisbell wants to control from the top but Soprano keeps moving.
Brisbell throws a big right hand that misses.
Brisbell with a flurry of punches that miss.
Brisbell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Soprano is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brisbell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Brisbell has managed to clinch.
Brisbell prevents Soprano from breaking the clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Brisbell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brisbell throws a hook but Soprano blocks it.
Brisbell throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Soprano.

and Soprano counters with a single leg into guard. Brisbell didn't expect that.

Soprano won't allow Brisbell to sweep him here.

Brisbell pushes Soprano off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Soprano decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brisbell's guard.
Soprano is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Soprano postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kris Brisbell will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Brisbell avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Soprano shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brisbell manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Soprano slips nicely into half guard.
Brisbell wants to get back to full guard but Soprano has mounted him!

Soprano looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Brisbell manages to reverse the position and now he's in Soprano's guard. Nice work there by Brisbell.

Soprano won't allow Brisbell to pass to mount.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Brisbell is looking for a kimura but Soprano is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brisbell to get the leverage.
Tony Soprano overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Brisbell is breathing heavily.
Soprano trying to control but Brisbell postures up.
Brisbell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Soprano keeps working.
Soprano is trying to get back to full guard.
Soprano pushes Brisbell off looking to stand but Brisbell dives back in and keeps control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Brisbell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brisbell misses with a body shot.
Brisbell tries to clinch up but Soprano circles away and keeps his distance.

Brisbell drives through and clinches with Soprano against the cage.

Brisbell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Soprano shoots in and drives through. Brisbell sprawls well.
Tony Soprano is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Brisbell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Brisbell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brisbell wants it to stay on the feet.
Brisbell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Soprano counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brisbell's guard now.

Soprano is fighting to break Brisbell's control of his arms but Brisbell is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Brisbell is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Brisbell swats away the attempt to clinch by Soprano.
Soprano avoids the head kick by Brisbell.
Brisbell blocks a jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Soprano shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Soprano tries to control but Brisbell wriggling away.
Brisbell is looking to improve his position but Soprano isn't that keen on the idea.
Brisbell tries to lock up and control but Soprano gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Soprano is working for a guillotine from mount but Brisbell frees his head quite easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Soprano trying to control but Brisbell is having none of it.

Soprano breaks from Brisbell's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Brisbell tries to lock up and control but Soprano gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Brisbell bucks Soprano off and manages to get back to his feet!
Brisbell thuds his shin into the meat of Soprano's side.
Soprano is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brisbell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Soprano fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Brisbell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Still in half guard, Brisbell seems content to control.
Brisbell working over Soprano with some ground and pound. Soprano looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Brisbell stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Brisbell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Soprano as he jumps to the side.
Soprano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Brisbell moves into range and clinches up with Soprano.
Soprano stalling in the clinch but Brisbell improves position.
Brisbell keeps control of Soprano as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Brisbell pulls guard.
Soprano sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Brisbell's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Soprano prevents Brisbell from improving his position.
Brisbell is looking to escape.
Brisbell is refusing to be controlled, as Soprano sits in half guard.
Brisbell pushes Soprano off looking to stand but Soprano dives back in and keeps control.
Soprano wants to control but Brisbell is keeping him busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kris Brisbell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Brisbell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
