Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Sewell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Kinnunen!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Sewell. No joy for Kinnunen on that attempt.

Kinnunen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sewell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kinnunen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sewell manages to get himself to full guard.

Sewell has his foot on Kinnunen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kinnunen works his way back into a safe position though.
Sewell wants to get back to his feet but Kinnunen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kinnunen wanted to stand there but Sewell had control of the position.

Sewell scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Kinnunen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sewell's waist but Sewell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kinnunen off to one side.
Joshua Sewell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Kinnunen.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kinnunen is defended easily by Sewell.

and Sewell counters by clinching up.

Kinnunen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sewell is fending him off so far but Kinnunen persists. Nope, Sewell circles away and we're back to standing.
Sewell feints and then cracks Kinnunen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kinnunen down.

Kinnunen looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Sewell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Joshua Sewell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kinnunen throws a lazy head kick
and Sewell counters with a three punch combo that has Kinnunen backing up. Kinnunen nods at Sewell to acknowledge the strikes.

Sewell has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kinnunen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sewell.
Kinnunen tries to move to mount but Sewell blocks the move with his legs.
Sewell manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kinnunen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kinnunen wants to control but Sewell is keeping him busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kinnunen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Kinnunen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sewell sees it coming and defends easily.
Sewell is refusing to be controlled, as Kinnunen sits in half guard.

Sewell won't allow Kinnunen to pass to mount.

Despite being in the dominant position, Daniel Kinnunen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kinnunen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sewell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sewell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kinnunen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Daniel Kinnunen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Sewell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Kinnunen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sewell's half guard.

Sewell stands up over Kinnunen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Kinnunen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Daniel Kinnunen has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kinnunen wants to take a breather but Sewell is having none of it.
Kinnunen thows a huge punch but Sewell dodges it nicely.
Kinnunen wants to stand up but Sewell is controlling the position.
Sewell lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Kinnunen is thwarting Sewell's attempts to control the position.

Kinnunen wants to free his trapped foot but Sewell is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Kinnunen is stalling here. Sewell is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kinnunen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Sewell has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Sewell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kinnunen has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sewell has control of an arm but Kinnunen manages to advance to Sewell's back!
Sewell is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kinnunen is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Kinnunen gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Kinnunen gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Kinnunen apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Kinnunen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sewell pulls his leg out and moves away.

Sewell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kinnunen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sewell was covering up waiting for the punch and Kinnunen finishes the takedown easily into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Daniel Kinnunen.
I think Kinnunen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
