The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ranzi moves out of range as Foster strikes.
Deejay Foster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ranzi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Foster defends it nicely.
Foster digs a good body shot into Ranzi's ribs.
Foster looks to land a left hand but Ranzi moved out of range nicely.
Foster fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ranzi on the side of the head.
Foster stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ranzi tries for a takedown but Foster sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ranzi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gian Matteo Ranzi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice jab there from Foster.

Ranzi on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Foster misses with the combination.
Foster comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ranzi is breathing heavily.
Foster throws a series of punches but Ranzi avoids them all with ease.
Foster dips to his left and cracks Ranzi with an uppercut!
A punch lands to the side of Ranzi 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Foster forces Ranzi back against the cage and clinches.

Ranzi takes a shot to the head.
Foster controlling the action here for a moment.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Foster continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
The crowd are getting on Foster's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Deejay Foster.
Foster closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Foster lands a shoulder strike.
Ranzi tries to pull guard but Foster holds him up against the cage and eventually Ranzi drops back down to his feet.
Ranzi is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Foster pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Foster dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Foster pushes Ranzi back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Ranzi wants a takedown.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Ranzi. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Ranzi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Foster walks away with a smile on his face. Ranzi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ranzi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Foster.
Ranzi fails with the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Foster lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ranzi.
A shot to de liver by Foster. Beautiful body shot.
Foster closes the distance and clinches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Foster is leaning against Ranzi and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
A short body shot lands from Foster as the two fighters clinch.
Foster content to slow the pace in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Foster gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Foster lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ranzi backwards.

Foster throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ranzis head.

Foster presses Ranzi against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Come on Foster - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Foster digs a right hand into Ranzi's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Ranzi's gas tank.

Foster is pushing Ranzi up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Foster lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ranzi backwards.
Foster lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ranzi backwards.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Foster takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Deejay Foster.
Foster lands with a cross.
Ranzi is rocked!
Foster connects with a stiff jab that staggers Ranzi - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
