Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kazuko Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and darren Mcminty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida comes to the cage accompanied by Da Rockwilder. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida throws a nice head kick!
Nice sprawl there from Machida as Mcminty shoots in.
Mcminty tries to bum rush Machida with a series of wild strikes but Machida uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mcminty doesn't manage to clinch there - Machida circles away.

Mcminty is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Machida's half guard.
Machida is looking for a sweep. Mcminty is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mcminty working over Machida with some ground and pound. Machida looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Mcminty winds up and cracks Machida with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Machida actively working from the bottom here.
Machida slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Machida is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mcminty throws a big right hand that misses.
Mcminty tries to stand but Machida is controlling from the bottom.
Machida looking for a sweep. Not yet Machida, not yet.
Machida has control of Mcminty's left arm, preventing Mcminty from doing any damage.
Machida controls Mcminty momentarily but Mcminty frees himself.
Mcminty must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Machida working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcminty doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcminty manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Machida connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Machida shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mcminty defends it nicely.
Mcminty closes this distance looking for a takedown but Machida circles away.
Machida throws a head kick that misses.
Machida misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mcminty.

Mcminty fails with an attempt to clinch.
Machida tries a head kick but it misses.
Mcminty throws a head kick but Machida moves out of range.

Mcminty moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

and Machida counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mcminty is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Machida scores with the left hand. Mcminty knows he should have avoided that one.
Mcminty shoots in and drives through. Machida sprawls well.
Kazuko Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of darren Mcminty.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Machida throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Mcminty moves out of range of the body kick.
Mcminty throws a lazy head kick
and Machida counters with a stiff right hand.
Machida stuffs the takedown.
Machida misses with a head kick.
Mcminty throws a sloppy head kick
and Machida counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Mcminty looks gassed!

Mcminty decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Machida moves into full guard.

Machida is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Machida is trying to break the clinch but Mcminty has him pressed against the cage.
Machida with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Machida wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Machida has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mcminty uses from the top position.

Machida is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Machida pulls Mcminty in close to prevent any damage.
Machida is looking to stand up but Mcminty isn't so interested in that idea.
Machida is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Machida has his foot on Mcminty's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mcminty works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machida seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Machida is trying to keep Mcminty in close.
Machida is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mcminty is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Mcminty postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mcminty has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Machida to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mcminty is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Machida pulls down on the head and he's put Mcminty to sleep! This one is all over!
