Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Michaels!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe has a takedown stuffed.
Joe looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Nice takedown defense from Michaels. No joy for Joe on that attempt.

Michaels clinches.
Joe takes a knee right on the jaw!
Michaels working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Joe has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Michaels is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sloppy Joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Michaels lands with a left to the head.
Michaels throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Joes head.

Michaels escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
An inside leg kick lands from Michaels.

Michaels has taken the fight to the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Michaels gets underhooks to prevent Joe's takedown attempt.
Michaels is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Michaels with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Michaels gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Michaels slips a nice elbow through Joe's hands, connecting with Joe's forehead.
Joe tries to roll over but Michaels keeps him under control.
Michaels passes the guard and advances to mount!
Michaels trying to control but Joe is having none of it.

Michaels prevents Joe from getting the reversal.

Joe tries to reverse the position but Michaels maintains control.
Michaels tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Michaels is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Joe can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Joe is in a horrible position here. Michaels smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Michaels has control of Joe's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Joe regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Joe is working to get back to half guard.
Michaels really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Michaels can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Joe is looking to escape.
Joe sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Joe has hold of Michaels's hands but Michaels slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Joe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Michaels's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Michaels's back!
