Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carling Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Oppenheimer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Carling Foster has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Carling Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Oppenheimer!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oppenheimer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Foster's waist but Foster gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oppenheimer off to one side.
Oppenheimer misses with a straight left.
Foster tries to clinch up.
Foster has his takedown stuffed

and Oppenheimer counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Oppenheimer slips a nice elbow through Foster's hands, connecting with Foster's forehead.
Oppenheimer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Foster's head.
Foster wants to improve his position but Oppenheimer is controlling well.
Foster wants to control but Oppenheimer is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Foster tries to get to full guard but Oppenheimer has control of the leg.
Oppenheimer looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Oppenheimer misses with a hook. Foster ducked under it nicely.
Foster checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Oppenheimer pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Foster pulls guard.
Oppenheimer preventing the sweep.
Oppenheimer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Foster looking for a sweep. Not yet Foster, not yet.
Oppenheimer looking to pass the guard.
Oppenheimer wants to control from the top but Foster keeps moving.
Oppenheimer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Oppenheimer trying to control but Foster is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Oppenheimer wants to clinch.

Oppenheimer tries for a takedown but Foster circles away easily

and Foster counters with a single leg into guard. Oppenheimer didn't expect that.
Foster trying to control the position from guard on top but Oppenheimer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Foster postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Oppenheimer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Foster, into his guard.

Foster wants to sweep here but Oppenheimer controlling him for the moment.
Oppenheimer tries to free his leg and advance position but Foster is retaining full guard.
Oppenheimer wants to get up but he can't break Foster's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Foster wants to control the position but Oppenheimer says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Foster wants to control but Oppenheimer is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Oppenheimer looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Foster is looking for a sweep. Oppenheimer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Oppenheimer throws a sloppy head kick and Foster moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Oppenheimer dominated that round.
That's time! Foster's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


The fight stays on the outside here - Foster looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Robert Oppenheimer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Foster counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Foster.
Oppenheimer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Foster wants to control but Oppenheimer is keeping busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, if Oppenheimer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Foster counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Foster throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Oppenheimer manages to get to full guard.
Oppenheimer keeping moving, preventing Foster from controlling successfully.

Foster postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Oppenheimer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Foster, into his guard.

Oppenheimer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Foster has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Foster working for a triangle but Oppenheimer defends it easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Foster looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Oppenheimer stops Foster from standing up.
Foster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Foster keeping moving, preventing Oppenheimer from controlling successfully.
Oppenheimer chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Foster decides to stand up, so the ref orders Oppenheimer to his feet.

Foster stands up.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Oppenheimer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Oppenheimer misses with a wild body shot.
Oppenheimer just misses with a punch to the body.
Oppenheimer throws a jab but it's blocked by Foster.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Foster feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Oppenheimer's calf.

Foster gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Oppenheimer. Foster does a little dance to reset his feet.
Foster tries to close the distance and clinch but Oppenheimer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Oppenheimer clinches but Foster breaks the clinch

and Foster decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Oppenheimer's guard.
Foster passes into half guard.

Oppenheimer is looking for a sweep. Foster is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Oppenheimer wants to control but Foster is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Foster is working for a kimura but Oppenheimer is defending it quite comfortably.

Foster trying to work for an americana but Oppenheimer has managed to regain full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Foster wants to stand but Oppenheimer has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Foster wants to pass the guard but Oppenheimer is keeping the position.

Foster is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Oppenheimer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Oppenheimer has escaped and now he's on top!
Oppenheimer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Foster has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Oppenheimer has passed into side control.
Oppenheimer misses with the ground and pound.

And that's the end of the fight!
Carling Foster showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Foster has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
