Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thunder Struck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Struck's entrance music is Thunderstruck. A fine choice. Mitchell has chosen DesertStorm/DJClue - Money Power Respect as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thunder Struck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jay Mitchell!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Struck throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mitchell fails in his attempt to clinch.
Struck avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mitchell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Struck sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Struck stuffs the takedown.

Mitchell clinches up with Struck and pushes him back against the cage.
Mitchell throws a punch but it's blocked by Struck.
Struck keeps control of Mitchell as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mitchell can't find room to land a body shot as Struck controls the action.
Struck tries to circle away but Mitchell has him pinned against the cage.
Struck keeps control of Mitchell as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mitchell tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Struck's elbow.
Struck blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Struck blocks a punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mitchell misses with a punch on the inside.
A frustrated look appears on Struck's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Mitchell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A cross from Struck lands.
Mitchell tries to clinch but Struck moves out of range.
Struck lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Struck pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A slow jab from Struck misses its intended target.
Mitchell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Struck defends it nicely.

Mitchell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Struck's guard.
Mitchell won't allow Struck to get back to his feet.
Mitchell wants to control from the top but Struck keeps moving.
Struck pulls Mitchell in to control the position.
Mitchell trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Struck manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mitchell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Struck gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Struck showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Struck tries to stand but Mitchell is controlling from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Struck not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Struck has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thunder Struck dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Mitchell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mitchell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mitchell moves into the clinch.
Mitchell swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Mitchell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Struck lands a jab to Mitchell's midsection.
Mitchell takes a jab right on the kisser.
Mitchell on the wrong end of a nice hook.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Struck misses with a head kick.
Struck scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.


Mitchell is rocked!
Struck closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Mitchell out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Thunder Struck!
