The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul tries to bum rush Caerdinn with a series of wild strikes but Caerdinn uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Paul bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Caerdinn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Paul.
Paul tries to land a front kick but Caerdinn steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Paul misses with a head kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Paul.
Paul connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Caerdinn momentarily.

It looks like Brent Caerdinn has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Caerdinn misses with a right hand

and Paul counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Caerdinn!

Paul postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Caerdinn to stand up.
Paul sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Caerdinn's defenses. It connects perfectly with Caerdinn's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
