Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronny Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ronny Ho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Jones!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Ho shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jones misses with a few strikes there.
Jones swinging wilding here.
Ho doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Jones swings for the body but Ho moves out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
A slow jab from Jones misses its intended target.

Ho bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ho tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jones holding on.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones tries to buck Ho off but Ho is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones is trying to control Ho's posture but Ho avoids it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ho tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ho has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Ho tries for a kimura but Jones is defending well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ronny Ho dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Jones with a poor takedown

and Ho counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ho drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ho has Jones in his guard.

Jones throws a sloppy strike and Ho has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Jones is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Ho!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ronny Ho!
