Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Dubbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick Dubbs has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Knox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Dubbs!
The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dubbs.
Dubbs fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dubbs takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Dubbs tries to clinch there but Knox circles away.
A good leg kick by Knox.

Knox clinches up with Dubbs and pushes him back against the cage.
Knox digs a right hand underneath Dubbs's ribcage. Dubbs let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Knox's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dubbs closes this distance looking for a takedown but Knox circles away.
Dubbs shoots for a double leg takedown but Knox sprawls well. He's pushed Dubbs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Chris Knox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Dubbs.
Dubbs looks gassed!
Dubbs throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Knox.

Knox has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Knox moves into the clinch successfully.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Knox lands a body punch.

Knox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Knox shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Knox was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dubbs taking shots to the head.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Knox cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Knox has hold of Dubbs's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dubbs manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Dubbs is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Knox looking to control but Dubbs is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Knox prevents Dubbs from getting the reversal.
Dubbs is in a horrible position here. Knox smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Dubbs somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Knox throws a leg kick which misses Dubbs's front leg but catches the back leg as Dubbs tries to avoid it.

Knox pushes Dubbs up against the cage in a clinch.
Knox gets underhooks to prevent Dubbs's takedown attempt.

Dubbs tries to pull guard but Knox holds him up against the cage and eventually Dubbs drops back down to his feet.

Knox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Knox connects with a solid leg kick.
Knox lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Knox closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dubbs to the mat! Dubbs manages to get full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dubbs has a closed guard, preventing Knox from standing up.

Knox got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dubbs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Knox has managed to get both his arms back between Dubbs's legs - danger averted.

Dubbs is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Knox is aware though and is defending well.
Knox has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Knox has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Dubbs to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Knox is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Dubbs pulls down on the head and he's put Knox to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Rick Dubbs!
