The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fairtex feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Alpha's calf.
Alpha swats away the attempt to clinch by Fairtex.
Alpha is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fairtex sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Fairtex is looking to clinch but Alpha is avoiding it.
Alpha shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Fairtex as he avoids it easily.

Chiquito Fairtex has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dog Alpha.

Alpha fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fairtex manages to avoid it.
Chiquito Fairtex seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alpha shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fairtex's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Alpha can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fairtex sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alpha's guard.
Fairtex is trying to control. Alpha wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Alpha is pulling down on Fairtex's head. It's preventing any offense from Fairtex, at least for the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

A close round but Dog Alpha will probably get the nod.

Alpha throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fairtex was covering up waiting for the punch and Alpha finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Fairtex has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Alpha is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Fairtex.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Alpha decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fairtex's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dog Alpha showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Alpha shoots for a double leg takedown but Fairtex sprawls well. He's pushed Alpha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Horrible takedown by Alpha or perhaps it was just good defense by Fairtex which made him look bad.
