The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mafetoni tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jarrar swivels and escapes.
Jarrar doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Mafetoni counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Jarrar on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Mafetoni seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jarrar does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Jarrar is looking to control Mafetoni's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jarrar avoid being mounted?
Mafetoni tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jarrar knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Jarrar is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jarrar trying to control but Mafetoni postures up.
Mafetoni works his foot free and advances to mount.
Jarrar tries to reverse the position but Mafetoni maintains control.

Mafetoni looking for a guillotine from mount but Jarrar is having none of it.
Jarrar in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Mafetoni lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jarrar tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mafetoni lands a big elbow - Jarrar is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Jarrar is forced to tap out!
