Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rodney Ang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abdullah Maleh!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ang thows a body shot but no joy.
Maleh tries to clinch but Ang moves out of range.
Ang chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Ang looks to clinch
and Maleh counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Good standup being displayed there by Maleh as he connects with a hook.
Maleh with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Ang moves out of range as Maleh throws a body kick.
Ang keeps the fight on the outside.
Abdullah Maleh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ang misses with a leg kick.
Ang on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Ang has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ang there as he acknowledges the shot.
Ang takes a shot right to the bread basket.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ang avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A head kick from Maleh lands but Ang takes it in his stride.
Maleh gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Maleh trying to stall but Ang improves his position.
A short uppercut from Maleh.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Maleh.
Maleh misses with a knee to the head.
Maleh is pressed up against the cage. Ang has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Maleh down to the mat. Maleh avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ang is breathing heavily.
Ang tries to clinch but Maleh moves away
and Maleh cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ang misses with a body shot
and Maleh counters with a head kick that drops Ang to the mat! Ang scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Ang is rocked!
Ang is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Maleh doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Ang crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Ang's bad books for that mishap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Abdullah Maleh!
