Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smokey Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kai Polinsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe comes to the cage accompanied by Slightly Stoopid - Above The Clouds. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Smokey Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kai Polinsky!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polinsky shoots in but no luck this time.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Joe stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Joe wants it to stay on the feet.
Polinsky shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Joe sprawls well. Joe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Polinsky gets slowly back to his feet.
Smokey Joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kai Polinsky.
Joe digs a good hook to Polinsky's body.
Polinsky looks gassed!
Nice body kick there by Joe.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Joe cracks Polinsky with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Polinsky looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Joe finish him?


It looks like Kai Polinsky has been cut.
Joe throws a series of punches but Polinsky avoids them all with ease.
A combination from Joe does no damage.
Joe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Polinsky moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Joe takes the fight into the clinch.

Joe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Joe clinches up against the cage.
Joe tries to circle away but Polinsky has him pinned against the cage.
Joe is trying to drag Polinsky to the mat but Polinsky just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Joe pulls guard effortlessly.

Joe wants to stand up but Polinsky is controlling him.
Polinsky pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Joe is keeping the position for now.
Polinsky slips nicely into half guard.

Polinsky is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Polinsky wants to take a breather but Joe is having none of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Joe looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Ground and pound from Polinsky.
Joe trying to hold on to Polinsky's head to control him but Polinsky postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Polinsky looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Polinsky is pressing down on Joe's thigh, looking to free his foot. Joe is holding on for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Polinsky lands a nice short elbow.
Polinsky tries to pass the half guard into mount. Joe knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Joe tries to roll over but Polinsky keeps him under control.
Polinsky trying to pass the guard but Joe defending well.
Polinsky prevents Joe from standing back up.
Polinsky trying to control from half guard but Joe is working away.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Polinsky tries to score a power double leg takedown but Joe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Polinsky somewhat.
Joe moves in looking to clinch but Polinsky pushes him off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Decent striking displayed by Joe there.
Polinsky shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Joe as he avoids it easily.
A head kick misses from Polinsky.
Joe fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Polinsky shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Joe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Polinsky's guard.
Joe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Polinsky is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Joe defends well.

Polinsky had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Joe defends it easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Joe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Polinsky not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smokey Joe dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kai Polinsky's cut.

Polinsky fails with the takedown

and Joe counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Joe.
Joe working hard to break the clinch.

Joe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Polinsky closes the distance and clinches up with Joe, looking for a takedown. Polinsky pushes Joe against the cage but Joe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Joe lands a left and a right that send Polinsky crashing to the mat, dazed. Joe thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Joe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Joe throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Polinsky was covering up waiting for the punch and Joe finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Polinsky looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Polinsky is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Joe trying to control but Polinsky is working from the bottom.
Joe wants to pass the guard but Polinsky is keeping the position.
Joe trying to control the position from guard on top but Polinsky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Joe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Polinsky can do to turn this around?

Polinsky looking for a triangle here. Joe is fighting it but it looks tight! Polinsky pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Joe is tapping out - this one is all over!
