Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Jhonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and KooK Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jhonson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Connor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Connor scores with a punch to the head.
Connor darts in trying to clinch
and Jhonson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Connor's guard now.
Jhonson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jhonson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Connor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jhonson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jhonson shoots in looking for a takedown. Connor tries to sprawl out of it but Jhonson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Connor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Connor is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jhonson is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Connor to the mat. Connor regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jhonson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Connor has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jhonson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Mike Jhonson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Connor connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Jhonson shoots in for a takedown but Connor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Connor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jhonson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Connor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jhonson somewhat.
Connor moves into range and clinches up with Jhonson.
Mike Jhonson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Jhonson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jhonson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
