The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Tutuola, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tutuola will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tutuola fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Tutuola throws a series of punches but Evans avoids them all with ease.
Tutuola stuffs the takedown.

and Evans counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tutuola's guard now.
Evans wants to control from the top but Tutuola keeps moving.
Evans works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Tutuola is trying to maintain the position but Evans is very close to passing his half guard.

Evans is stalling here. Tutuola is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Evans seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Tutuola has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Evans on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Evans tries to get out of the position.
Evans manages to get back to half guard.
Tutuola tries to stand and escape but Evans is controlling the position.
Evans is looking for a sweep. Tutuola is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tutuola looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Evans with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Tutuola tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Evans wants to control but Tutuola is keeping busy.
Evans is not content to let Tutuola control the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tutuola stands and steps away. Evans gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Odafin Tutuola seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Evans counters with a left and a right that stings Tutuola.
Evans shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tutuola as he jumps to the side.

and Evans counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Evans drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tutuola pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rashad Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Tutuola. No joy for Evans on that attempt.

Tutuola changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Evans looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Evans is trying to control Tutuola's posture but Tutuola avoids it.
Evans takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Tutuola decides to stand back up. Tutuola steps back and let's Evans get back to his feet.

Tutuola tries to clinch but Evans is having none of it.

Tutuola moves into range and clinches up with Evans.
Evans has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tutuola is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Evans jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tutuola walks away with a smile on his face. Evans gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Evans takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tutuola lands a jab-cross combination.
Tutuola takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Evans fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Evans shoots in and drives through. Tutuola sprawls well.
Tutuola scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Evans doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tutuola cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Evans is rocked!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tutuola throws a right and a left that both miss.
Oh Evans is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Tutuola shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Evans is on queer street and Tutuola is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
