The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Porter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Genoom.
Genoom tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Porter swivels and escapes.
Genoom is trying hard to land a takedown here. Porter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Joey Porter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abdul Genoom.
Genoom misses with a head kick.
Porter misses with a straight left.
Porter jabs Genoom right on the nose. Genoom blinks but takes it well.

It looks like Abdul Genoom has been cut.
Genoom changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Porter tries to avoid it but Genoom manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Porter to the ground. Porter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Genoom misses with a double jab.
Abdul Genoom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Genoom shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Genoom trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Porter tries to reverse the position but Genoom maintains control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Genoom content just to control the position here.
Porter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Genoom on the ground.
Genoom unloads with some shots from mount but Porter bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Porter wants to try and get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Genoom unloads with some shots from mount but Porter bucks and avoids them well.

Genoom stands up from mount. Strange move.
Genoom tries to clinch but Porter is having none of it.
Genoom dives in and grabs Porter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Porter pushes down on Genoom's head and hops out.

That's time! Porter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Horrible takedown by Genoom or perhaps it was just good defense by Porter which made him look bad.
Genoom tries to clinch there but Porter circles away.
Porter throws a hook but Genoom avoids it easily.
Genoom tries to close the distance and clinch but Porter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Genoom shoots in and drives through. Porter sprawls well.

Genoom keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Porter.

Genoom tries to close the distance and clinch up but Porter swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Genoom throws a right and a left that both miss.
Genoom throws a head kick but Porter moves out of range.
Porter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Genoom.

Porter feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Genoom sprawling to the canvas! Genoom rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Porter finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Porter throws a jab but it's blocked by Genoom.
Genoom is looking to clinch but Porter is avoiding it.
Joey Porter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Genoom tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Genoom walks into a left hand.
The fighters circling - Porter throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Porter throws the left hand but Genoom avoids the punch easily.
Genoom takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Porter lands an overhand right.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Porter connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Porter flashes Genoom a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Genoom's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Genoom crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Porter punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!
