Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Horus Mithra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Mithra.
Young tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mithra throws a shot to the body.
Mithra scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Young doesn't seem bothered though.

Young walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Mithra checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Mithra throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mithra paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Mithra just misses with a punch to the body.
Mithra looks to land a right hand but Young moved out of range.

Mithra throws out a loose jab but Young uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mithra swats away the attempt to clinch by Young.
Young drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Horus Mithra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mithra moves into the clinch.
Mithra tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Mithra has had enough of the clinch but Young keeps him there for the moment.
Young stalling in the clinch but Mithra improves position.
Mithra lands with a right to the head.
Mithra is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Young pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Mithra lands a hook to the side of the head.
Young is struggling to control the position.

Mithra has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Young avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Mithra doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Young throws a punch but it's blocked by Mithra.
A left hand lands to the body for Mithra.

Mithra has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Young will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mithra up against the cage.

Young breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Young uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mithra.
Alan Young is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mithra works the jab nicely.
Mithra tests Young's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Young is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Young throws a head kick that half lands.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mithra darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mithra misses with a straight right.
Young tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mithra shoots for a takedown but Young saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Alan Young has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Horus Mithra.
Mithra clinches but Young breaks the clinch
and Young counters with a head kick.

Young takes the fight into the clinch.
Young lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mithra backwards.

Mithra manages to break the clinch.
Mithra throws a sloppy head kick and Young moves out of range easily.
Young tries to close the distance and clinch but Mithra swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mithra fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mithra closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Mithra waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Young.
Mithra throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Young stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mithra goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Alan Young has been cut.
Young is breathing heavily.
Mithra with a nice cross.

Young is rocked!
Mithra flashes Young a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Young's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Young crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Mithra punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Horus Mithra! Horus Mithra retains his welterweight title!
