Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pearl Whites (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Whites comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman. Smith has chosen In The Morning as his entrance music. Mike Smith struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 207.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith connects with a body shot.
Mike Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Whites shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Whites was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Whites working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Smith pushes Whites away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Whites gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Whites has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Smith is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Whites yanks on the arm and Smith is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Whites.
