Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mocha Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sigge Strop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mocha Joe could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sigge Strop's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mocha Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sigge Strop!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strop shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Joe sprawls well. Joe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Strop gets slowly back to his feet.
Strop fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Strop is defended easily by Joe.
Mocha Joe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sigge Strop.

Strop changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Joe looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Strop thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Joe is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Strop off and has taken his back!

You can see the frustration on Strop's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Strop tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Strop has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Strop wants to control but Joe is keeping him busy.

That was a close round but I would say that Mocha Joe will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Joe walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Strop fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Strop shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Strop was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Joe manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Strop passes the guard and advances to mount!
Joe slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Strop is working for a kimura but Joe is defending it quite comfortably.

Joe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Strop pulls his head out easily.
Mocha Joe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Strop looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Joe wants to improve his position but Strop is controlling well.

Strop controlling the pace.
Strop landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Strop is looking for a kimura but Joe is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Strop to get the leverage.
Strop is breathing heavily.
Joe is looking for a sweep. Strop is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Joe makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Joe.

Joe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Strop doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Strop manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Joe has his foot on Strop's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Strop works his way back into a safe position though.

Joe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Strop defends it easily.

Joe is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Strop is aware though and is defending well.
Strop looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Joe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Strop defends well.

Strop prevents Joe from getting the reversal.

Sigge Strop showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Sigge Strop comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Strop has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
