A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newman tries to bum rush Stroud with a series of wild strikes but Stroud uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Stroud lands a nice shot that snaps Newman's head back.

It looks like Ali Newman has been cut.
Stroud shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Stroud misses with a kick to the body.
Newman steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stroud.
Newman dips to his left and cracks Stroud with an uppercut!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Stroud lands an elbow that stopped Newman in his tracks for a moment.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Newman wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Stroud breaks the clinch.
Stroud misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stroud throws a head kick but Newman moves out of range.
Newman thows a left - swing and a miss!
Newman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stroud circles away quickly and effectively.
Newman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stroud lands a front kick.
Newman is breathing heavily.
Stroud lands a jab to the nose.
Stroud rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Newman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Newman moves out of range of the body kick.
Stroud throws a sloppy head kick and Newman moves out of range easily.

A good leg kick by Stroud.
Stroud tries to bum rush Newman with a series of wild strikes but Newman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Stroud throws a nice inside leg kick.
Stroud thuds his shin into the meat of Newman's side.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Stroud drops Newman with a beautiful combination! Newman stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Stroud is looking for the KO!

Oh Newman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stroud misses with a two punch combination.

Stroud lands a huge takedown. Newman is out but the ref is slow to react and Stroud lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Newman lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
