Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Eggemeyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin has chosen Song of Ice and Fire Art Collection as his entrance music. George Martin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Martin!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin leaves Eggemeyer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Eggemeyer slips a jab from Martin.
Martin tries to clinch there but Eggemeyer circles away.
Eggemeyer defending well as Martin loads up on a big left hand.

Eggemeyer pushes Martin up against the cage in a clinch.
Eggemeyer blocks a body shot from Martin.
Eggemeyer tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Martin stops a takedown attempt from Eggemeyer.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacob Eggemeyer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Eggemeyer ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Eggemeyer no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Eggemeyer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Martin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Eggemeyer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Martin defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Martin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Eggemeyer gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Eggemeyer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Eggemeyer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Martin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Martin's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Eggemeyer is trying to stick to Martin's back but Martin is turning into Eggemeyer. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Eggemeyer's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Martin.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Martin's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Martin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Eggemeyer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Martin has managed to get both his arms back between Eggemeyer's legs - danger averted.
Martin connects with a couple of short punches.

Martin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Eggemeyer's head.

Eggemeyer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Eggemeyer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Martin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Eggemeyer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Martin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Eggemeyer is keeping the position for now.

A close round but George Martin will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Eggemeyer shoots in but Martin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Martin throws a jab when Eggemeyer was well out of range.
Eggemeyer takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


Eggemeyer is rocked!


It looks like Jacob Eggemeyer has been cut.
Martin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Oh Eggemeyer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Eggemeyer slips under a jab from Martin.
Jacob Eggemeyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Eggemeyer uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Martin.
Eggemeyer seems to have got his legs back now.
Martin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice defenses there by Eggemeyer.

Eggemeyer moves away from the strike by Martin.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Eggemeyer.
Martin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Eggemeyer is trying to get an arm triangle but Martin is defending well.

Eggemeyer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Eggemeyer stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Eggemeyer dives in and grabs Martin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Martin pushes down on Eggemeyer's head and hops out.
Martin fails with an attempt to clinch.

Martin takes a swing at Eggemeyer's ribcage but misses.
Eggemeyer misses with a two punch combination.
Martin misses with a straight left.
Eggemeyer tries to clinch but Martin is having none of it.
Martin drops Eggemeyer with a big left hand! Eggemeyer is injured, injured bad! Martin jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
