Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Engrle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen Undertaker 5th as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stan Engrle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Engrle takes a swing at Jackson's ribcage but misses.
Engrle bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Engrle misses with an uppercut.
Engrle on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Engrle tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Engrle fails with an attempt to clinch.

Jackson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Engrle looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Engrle is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Engrle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jackson misses with the ground and pound.
Jackson looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Engrle is avoiding damage well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Engrle tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

You can see the frustration on Engrle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Engrle falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jackson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Engrle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jackson stalks Engrle and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Engrle's face. Engrle staggers backwards, shaken.
Engrle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jackson misses the shot to the body.
Jackson throws a combination. Engrle tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Jackson lands a with a good body shot.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Engrle sprawls well. Engrle wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet.
Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jackson fails to land with a series of punches.
Engrle lands with a kick to the temple. Jackson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Kevin Jackson has been cut.
Jackson scores with a body shot.

Jackson's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Jackson duly obliges.
Engrle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A head kick lands from Engrle that sends Jackson to the canvas. Jackson tries to scramble back to his feet but Engrle brings him back down into side control.
Jackson tries to strike from the bottom but misses.

Jackson sneaks back into half guard.
Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Engrle controlling the action here.
Engrle seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jackson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jackson looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Engrle pushes past his half guard into mount!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Stan Engrle will probably get the nod.

letting Jackson counter with a right hand.
Engrle closes the distance looking to clinch

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jackson prevents Engrle from improving his position.

Engrle is in a horrible position here. Jackson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Jackson goes for an armbar but Engrle turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Engrle.

Engrle avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Engrle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Engrle throws a half hearted mid kick.
Jackson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Engrle throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Engrle shows good takedown defense.
Engrle misses with a looping right.
Stan Engrle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Engrle slips a straight right by Jackson.

Engrle lands a head kick. Jackson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Engrle is looking to clinch.
Engrle tries a head kick but it misses.

Engrle has closed the distance and engaged Jackson in a clinch.
Jackson takes an elbow to the temple.


That has opened up Kevin Jackson's cut even more.
Engrle landing knees to the body.
Engrle connects with a knee to the head.
Engrle lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Stan Engrle will probably get the nod.

That's time! Engrle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

No joy there for Jackson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jackson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Engrle dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jackson. That did some damage!
Engrle throws a low kick but Jackson avoids it.
Engrle tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance.

Engrle clinches up with Jackson and pushes him back against the cage.

Jackson manages to pull guard.
Jackson controls Engrle momentarily but Engrle frees himself.
Jackson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jackson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Engrle is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Engrle trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Engrle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Engrle wanted to stand there but Jackson had control of the position.
Jackson trying to keep a closed guard but Engrle is proving a slippery customer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jackson circles away from the clinch attempt
letting Jackson counter with a right hand.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Engrle wants to clinch.
Stan Engrle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Engrle bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Engrle lands a big head kick that sends Jackson to the canvas! Engrle follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
