Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Peter Baba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kelvin Day!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Day feints and as Baba raises his hands in defense, Day changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Day drops back, looking for a kneebar! Baba looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Baba looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Baba!

Baba tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Day is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Day looking for submissions off his back.
Day moves into full guard.

Day working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baba doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Baba manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Day is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Baba doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Day.
Baba is looking for a sweep. Day is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Baba looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Day is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Baba is looking to improve his position.

Baba moves into full guard.

Day drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Baba manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Day has Baba in his guard.
Baba wants to pass the guard but Day is keeping the position.
Baba passes into half guard.

Day looking for submissions off his back.
Baba lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Baba lands strikes from half guard.

Baba looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Day is defending against the submission attempts here by Baba.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Baba will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Baba tries to buck Day off but he can't manage it.

Day jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Baba is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Baba and Day has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Day is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Baba is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Baba wants to control but Day postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Baba is looking to regain half guard here but Day keeps moving and retains side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Baba tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Day presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Baba has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Day. Oh but Baba has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Day goes limp - he's gone! Baba jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Peter Baba!
