The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fudencio is looking to clinch.
Gomez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fudencio manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Gomez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fudencio has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gomez has managed to get both his arms back between Fudencio's legs - danger averted.
Fudencio is striking off his back. Gomez thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Fudencio wants to control but Gomez is keeping busy and won't allow it.

and Gomez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Fudencio's guard now.
Fudencio has his foot on Gomez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gomez works his way back into a safe position though.
Fudencio controls Gomez momentarily but Gomez frees himself.
