PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Litran Kossu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Litran Kossu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Cross!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kossu waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Cross.
Kossu fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kossu is working for takedown but Cross is calmly controlling the position for now.
Kossu tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Litran Kossu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cross stalling.
Kossu fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Kossu drags the fight down to the ground.
Cross really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kossu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cross wants to control from the top but Kossu keeps moving.

Kossu is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Cross stopping the sweep attempt from Kossu.
Cross content to stall in guard here.

Kossu is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kossu looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Kossu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cross can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kossu keeping moving, preventing Cross from controlling successfully.
Cross thows a big elbow that misses.
Cross passes Kossu's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kossu won't allow Cross to pass to mount.
Cross not doing much here.
Kossu wants to improve his position but Cross is controlling well.
Kossu is not content to let Cross control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cross working over Kossu with some ground and pound. Kossu looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Cross is looking for a kimura here.
Kossu makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kossu.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kossu is trying to control the position but Cross postures up.
Cross trying to control the position from guard on top but Kossu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cross is standing up over Kossu. Kossu looks to escape but Cross dives into side control.
Kossu is breathing heavily.
Kossu manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Kossu stops Cross from getting back to his feet.

Kossu is looking for a kimura but Cross is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kossu to get the leverage.
Cross wants to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cross trying to control but Kossu postures up.
Cross is looking to improve his position.
Cross wants to control but Kossu is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Cross might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kossu kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kossu closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Cross wants to control but Kossu postures up.

Kossu looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Cross tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kossu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kossu looking to control but instead Cross has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Cross gets full guard.
Kossu trying to control the position from guard on top but Cross is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cross controls Kossu momentarily but Kossu frees himself.
Kossu slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cross tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Kossu easily slips into full mount!
Cross tries to hold on but Kossu postures up.
Kossu fails to move to back control.

Kossu working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Cross is desperately trying to improve his position but Kossu has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Litran Kossu dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kossu shoots in and drives through. Cross sprawls well.
Kossu wants to clinch but Cross slips to the side

and Cross counters with a shoot takedown. Kossu fights it but they end up in guard.
Cross trying to control but Kossu is working from the bottom.

Cross decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kossu, up you get!
Kossu misses with a takedown

and Cross counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kossu throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Kossu working for a triangle but Cross defends it easily.
Cross wants to pass the guard but Kossu is keeping the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kossu looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cross looking to pass the guard.

Kossu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Cross trying to control the position from guard on top but Kossu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kossu has a closed guard, preventing Cross from standing up.

Kossu looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Cross passes into half guard.
Kossu moves into full guard.

Kossu is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Cross frees his head nicely. Oh but Kossu has switched to an armbar! Cross is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
