Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Borden Chantry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Declan Newell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chantry comes to the ring accompanied by RATM - Killing in the Name Of. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Chantry shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Chantry was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Newell is desperately trying to improve his position but Chantry has a good base and remains in mount.
Chantry wants to control the pace but Newell is squirming around nicely.
Chantry is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Newell is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Newell wants to get back to full guard.
Chantry lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Chantry landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Chantry has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Newell is defending against the submission attempts here by Chantry.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Chantry decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Chantry tries to close the distance and clinch but Newell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Newell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chantry.
Newell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Newell wants it to stay on the feet.

Chantry shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Newell manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Chantry decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Newell wants to improve his position but Chantry is controlling well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Newell thows a left - swing and a miss!
Chantry shoots in looking for a takedown. Newell tries to sprawl out of it but Chantry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Newell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Chantry is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Newell's half guard.

Chantry is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
