The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayoffer closes the distance and pushes Corley back into the cage.

Corley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mayoffer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Corley wants to get up but he can't break Mayoffer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Corley slaps away a takedown attempt from Mayoffer, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Mayoffer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Let's hope that Mayoffer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

I looks like Mayoffer might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Mayoffer swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Corley is now in Mayoffer's guard. A big mistake from Mayoffer there, giving up the dominant position!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Corley drops back looking for a leg! Mayoffer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mayoffer manages to kick Corley off! Corley jumps back into Mayoffer's guard.
