The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Semmence tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ninja swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ninja fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Semmence looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Semmence throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ninja.
Ninja cracks Semmence with a good jab.
No joy there for Ninja, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ninja slaps away a takedown attempt from Semmence, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ninja defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Semmence.

Ninja lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ninja.
Nice uppercut lands for Ninja. That snapped Semmence's head back.

Ninja lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Semmence circles away quickly and effectively.
Ryan Semmence seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Semmence is trying desperately to land a takedown but Ninja is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Semmence.

Ninja lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Semmence backs up against the cage.
Semmence tries to move into range but Ninja moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Ninja lands a two punch combo.
Ninja goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A punch lands to the side of Semmence 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Nice takedown defense from Ninja. No joy for Semmence on that attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ninja lands with a nice body punch.
Ninja throws a shot to the body.

Ninja connects with a good right hand that stumbles Semmence. Semmence circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ninja is looking to wear down Semmence with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Ninja throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ninja slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Semmence walks into a straight right hand from Ninja.
Semmence is breathing heavily.

Ninja lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Semmence might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Ninja has got the better of the exchanges.
Semmence seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Ninja shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Semmence is backing up but Ninja catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Semmence covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Ninja Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
