PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Didier Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Bildt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Carl Bildt is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Carl Bildt!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meyer looks for a takedown but Bildt sprawls well.
Meyer is breathing heavily.
Meyer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Meyer closes the distance and clinches up with Bildt, looking for a takedown. Meyer pushes Bildt against the cage but Bildt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Bildt wants to advance to full mount but Meyer doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Meyer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bildt moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bildt connects with a good right hand that stumbles Meyer. Meyer circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Bildt avoids the head kick by Meyer.
Meyer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bildt avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Bildt blocks the body kick.
Meyer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

That was a close round but I would say that Didier Meyer will probably get the nod.

Meyer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Meyer is really struggling to control Bildt but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Meyer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
