Silva has chosen N.E.R.D. -- Spaz as his entrance music. The key to victory for AJ Penn has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.
Penn swings for the body but Silva moves out of range.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Silva tries to clinch there but Penn circles away.

It looks like Morishima Silva has been cut.

Silva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Penn is fending him off so far but Silva persists. Nope, Penn circles away and we're back to standing.

Silva chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Penn can pounce on him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn wants to get back to his feet but Silva passes into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Penn sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Silva's defenses. It connects perfectly with Silva's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
