Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evangelista Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Evangelista Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tom Green!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos tries to bum rush Green with a series of wild strikes but Green uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Santos looks for a takedown but Green sprawls well.
Santos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Green circles away quickly and effectively.
Santos scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Santos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Santos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Green as he avoids it easily.
Green closes this distance looking for a takedown but Santos circles away.
Santos shoots for a double leg takedown but Green sprawls well. He's pushed Santos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evangelista Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Green shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Santos as he jumps to the side.

and Santos counters with a low kick, right behind Green 's knee.

Santos closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Santos lands in his opponent's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Green can do anything to dispel that myth.

Green is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Santos's half guard.

Santos throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Horrible takedown by Green or perhaps it was just good defense by Santos which made him look bad.
Green looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Santos is fending him off so far but Green persists. Nope, Santos circles away and we're back to standing.

and Santos counters with a three punch combo that has Green backing up. Green nods at Santos to acknowledge the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Green misses with a jab, cross combination.
Green shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Santos but Santos pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Santos lands a two punch combo.
Santos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Santos lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Santos misses with a low kick as Green jumps back.
Santos lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Santos shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Green sprawls well. Green wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Santos gets slowly back to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Green changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Santos tries to avoid it but Green manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Santos to the ground. Santos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Evangelista Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Green.
Green fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Green looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Green slaps away a takedown attempt from Santos, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Green is looking to take a break and control but Santos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Green has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Santos is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Green yanks on the arm and Santos is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Green.
