The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimputonang throws a head kick that Nikkari semi-blocks.
Nikkari moves in looking to clinch but Kimputonang pushes him off.
Nikkari is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kimputonang.
Kimputonang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kimputonang circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nikkari shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nikkari takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Esko Nikkari has been cut.

Nikkari gets caught flat footed, as Kimputonang shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Nikkari wants to stand and escape but Kimputonang is having none of it.
Kimputonang controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kimputonang slips nicely into half guard.
Nikkari is trying to stand.
Kimputonang works his way into side control.

Nikkari is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kimputonang is controlling him well.
Kimputonang moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Nikkari pushes Kimputonang away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kimputonang gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Nikkari is breathing heavily.
