Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scott Smyth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vandis Campeno!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smyth misses with a leg kick.
Campeno connects with a jab.
Campeno is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Smyth.
Campeno fails to land with a series of punches.
Smyth scores with a nice strike.
Campeno on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Smyth swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Smyth wants to land a leg kick but Campeno is out of range.
Campeno scores with a three punch combo!
Some bone on bone action there as Smyth checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Smyth stalks Campeno and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Campeno's face. Campeno staggers backwards, shaken.
Campeno ducks right into an uppercut from Smyth.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Campeno has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
A lazy left from Smyth finds it's target.
Smyth connects with the punch.
A right-left combo lands from Smyth.
Smyth lands a head shot.
Smyth really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A punch lands to the side of Campeno 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The fighters circling - Campeno throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Scott Smyth seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Smyth.
Smyth feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Campeno's calf.
Smyth is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Campeno takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Smyth stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Smyth lands a nice hook to Campeno's body. Campeno takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Smyth lands a really nice looking cross but Campeno seems unphased.
Campeno throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Smyth is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Campeno gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Smyth.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Smyth, as that shot connected.

Smyth drops Campeno with a beautiful combination! Campeno stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Smyth is looking for the KO!


Campeno is rocked!


It looks like Vandis Campeno has been cut.
Campeno takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Campeno is still on wobbly legs! Can Smyth finish him?

Smyth jabs at Campeno's body.
Campeno seems to have recovered his senses.
Smyth jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Smyth throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Campeno on the side of the head.
Smyth connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Smyth tries to work over Campeno's front leg with a kick but Campeno checks it.

Campeno takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Campeno takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Smyth connects with a right hand. Campeno shakes it off.
Smyth throws a one two combo.

Smyth tests Campeno's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Smyth lands with an uppercut that bounces Campeno off the cage and back into rage.

Smyth scores with a one two! Campeno had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Smyth lands with a straight right. Campeno didn't see that one coming.
Smyth lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Smyth scores with a crisp jab that stopped Campeno in his tracks.
Campeno has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Campeno there as he acknowledges the shot.
Donk. Smyth catches Campeno right on the button with a cross.
Campeno walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Smyth lands with an uppercut that bounces Campeno off the cage and back into rage.
Smyth scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Smyth goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Campeno seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Smyth shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Campeno is backing up but Smyth catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Campeno covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Smyth Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Scott Smyth!
